We are looking for a strong drummer who can teach beginner to intermediate students in a fun, encouraging, and structured way. Our students are mainly school-aged children and teens.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with kids, brings positive energy, and genuinely enjoys helping young musicians grow in confidence.
You do not need to be a touring-level drummer — we are looking for an awesome teacher who plays well, connects with students, and teaches strong drumming fundamentals.
What the role involves
- Teaching 1:1 drum lessons to kids and teens (mostly beginners–intermediate students)
- Occasional small group lessons (up to 5 students)
- Following a structured lesson approach
- Helping students build confidence, timing, and core drumming skills
- Communicating progress with students and parents when needed
Requirements
- Passionate about helping the next generation of musicians grow and enjoy learning drums
- Strong drumming skills with a good understanding of rhythm, timing, and basic music theory
- Must be comfortable working with children and teenagers in a structured learning environment
- Reliable transport to and from the studio
- Available to teach weekends or after school hours Monday–Friday (from around 3:30pm onwards)
- Teachers begin with a small, focused student load while we continue matching them with new students, allowing their schedule to naturally grow over time
- Comfortable teaching one-on-one lessons and small groups of up to 5 students (lessons are no longer than 1 hour)
- Good sense of humour — we love fun, positive teachers
- Easygoing, friendly, and organised
- Punctuality and communication are a must
- Comfortable using internet-based software on a phone, tablet, or computer for scheduling and lesson notes (My Music Staff)
