Library Assistant – Customer Experience
This is a temporary part-time opportunity (30 hours per week), working across a rotating roster of any 5 out of 7 days. The role is available for an immediate start through to Thursday, 24 December 2026 and will be at our Sarina Library.

About the Role
As a Library Assistant – Customer Experience, you’ll support the delivery of high-quality library services while helping maintain a safe, inclusive and engaging environment for our community. In this role you will:
- Deliver friendly, tailored customer service across a range of library services
- Support front-of-house operations, including loans, returns, memberships and general enquiries
- Assist customers to access and navigate library resources, digital platforms and technology
- Contribute to the delivery of engaging programs, events and community activities
- Help maintain a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for all library visitors
- Assist with shelving, stock handling and general library upkeep, including some physical tasks
- Gain exposure across a variety of services including customer service, community engagement, outreach (including home library delivery), and children’s programming such as First 5 Forever
About You
We’re looking for someone who is customer-focused, adaptable and enjoys working in a team environment.
Essential:
- Experience delivering high-quality customer service
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and solve problems effectively
- Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Experience supporting or delivering programs or activities
- Current QLD “C” Class Driver Licence (or equivalent)
- Working with Children Blue Card
Desirable but not essential:
- Confidence with children’s program delivery (desirable but not essential)
- Experience in a library or similar environment
- Qualification in Library and Information Studies or related field
- Experience presenting or facilitating community programs
