In this role, you'll:
Work as part of the Heritage and Precincts team at Transport for NSW, this role supports the development of organisation-wide policies, strategies and standards for heritage. In this role you will play an important part in refreshing and updating Transport’s suite of heritage policies, guidance, procedures and technical resources.
The role involves applying your research expertise, policy writing and stakeholder engagement experience to help ensure Transport remains a leader in State Agency heritage management. Through the development and implementation of organisational policies and strategies related to heritage you will contribute to initiatives that protect and promote Transport’s diverse heritage portfolio and role.
You’ll work within the Heritage Policy and Strategy sub-team to improve heritage awareness across the organisation, help establish consistent internal processes for heritage and deliver strategic initiatives that directly shape heritage outcomes across a major state‑wide infrastructure portfolio.

About you
You are a heritage policy and strategy expert with experience working in a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment where heritage, asset management, infrastructure delivery, community expectations, and regulatory frameworks intersect.
Your heritage knowledge, analytical capability, and collaborative working style, demonstrated by your portfolio of public policy and strategy achievements proves that you can balance legislative obligations with operational needs to support improved heritage outcomes, and contribute to Transport’s role as an industry leader in heritage management.
You're recognised as a proactive and ethical heritage and public policy professional, skilled at communicating, researching complex issues, advising, analysing risks, and implementing practical heritage policy and strategy approaches.
You are experienced in translating NSW and federal environmental/heritage legislation to large heritage asset portfolios and have a proven track record of preparing, consulting on and finalising heritage asset strategies.
You are experienced communicating with large and diverse stakeholder groups including executives, leadership teams and decision makers and hold good knowledge of the consultation and stakeholder engagement requirements of a NSW public service role.
