About Pindan Beef Company
Pindan Beef Company is developing the Kimberley region's export-registered beef processing facility, strategically located between Broome and Derby in Western Australia. Scheduled to commence operations in September 2026, the facility will provide critical processing capacity for cattle producers across the Kimberley and Northern Australia, supporting the continued growth and sustainability of the region's livestock industry.
As we move towards operational readiness, we are seeking an experienced and driven Livestock Manager to join our foundation leadership team. This unique opportunity will see you play a key role in establishing livestock procurement, supply, and operational systems, helping shape the success of a landmark agribusiness venture from the ground up.
The Opportunity
This is a senior operational role offering the opportunity to become a key member of our leadership team. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring a consistent supply of quality livestock while maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare, compliance, safety, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage livestock procurement and supply programs to meet processing requirements.
- Coordinate cattle receival, yard operations, handling, and dispatch activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with pastoralists, producers, livestock agents, and transport operators throughout the Kimberley and Northern Australia.
- Ensure compliance with all animal welfare, traceability, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee NLIS documentation, livestock records, and reporting systems.
- Monitor livestock quality and performance outcomes.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise livestock staff and contractors.
- Liaise closely with the Plant Manager and broader Management Team to coordinate livestock supply, production scheduling, operational planning, and business objectives.
- Collaborate with production, quality assurance, maintenance, and operational departments to optimise plant throughput, efficiency, and livestock outcomes.
- Contribute to management meetings, strategic planning, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
- Maintain a strong focus on workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance.
About You
You will bring:
- Proven experience in livestock management, cattle operations, pastoral enterprises, feedlots, saleyards, or meat processing facilities.
- Strong knowledge of cattle handling practices and animal welfare standards.
- Sound understanding of livestock compliance, NLIS requirements, and supply chain management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Current driver's licence.
