Northern Star Surface Mining (NSSM) is the newly established surface mining division of Northern Star Resources, an ASX 50 global gold producer with operations across Western Australia and Alaska.
As we continue to build our in-house mining capability, we're looking for an experienced Commercial Finance Manager to join our Corporate Office in Subiaco. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity where you'll play a key role in shaping the commercial and financial performance of our surface mining operations.
Reporting to the Group Manager Finance – Mining Services, you will lead commercial finance activities that support operational excellence and strategic decision-making.
You'll work closely with operational leaders to deliver financial insights, improve commercial processes, and drive business performance across our mining operations.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting across surface mining operations.
- Deliver commercial analysis and financial insights to support operational decision-making.
- Manage cost control, contract administration and commercial compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement of finance systems, reporting and business processes.
- Develop and enhance KPI reporting using Power BI and other business intelligence tools.
- Lead ERP and financial system improvements across multiple sites.
- Mentor and develop Business Analysts while supporting the broader commercial finance team.
- Identify opportunities to improve business performance and deliver sustainable commercial outcomes.
You'll be a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys partnering with operations and influencing business outcomes. To be successful you will need:
- Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting or Finance).
- CA or CPA qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical capability.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with Power BI or similar BI platforms.
- Experience working with ERP systems.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
