About the role
As the Supervisor – Underground Mechanical Fixed Plant at Ernest Henry, you will play a critical role in leading the underground mechanical team and ensuring the safe and reliable performance of fixed plant assets across site.
Reporting to the Superintendent – UG Mechanical Fixed Plant, you will take ownership of both people safety and asset reliability, driving standards, managing risks and ensuring infrastructure operates at peak performance.
You will combine strong technical capability with hands-on leadership, driving safety, reliability and continuous improvement while maintaining high operational standards.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Championing safety and ensuring compliance with site standards
- Supervising and coordinating underground mechanical teams
- Overseeing maintenance execution on fixed plant and materials-handling systems
- Delivering maintenance schedules and managing breakdowns effectively
- Driving reliability and asset performance across underground infrastructure
- Coaching and mentoring tradespersons and apprentices
- Managing labour, materials and resource utilisation
- Ensuring accurate work order completion and data integrity
- Supporting continuous improvement and operational outcomes
About you
You are a proactive leader with a strong focus on safety, reliability and team performance within an underground environment.You bring a hands-on approach, value precision and structure, and are confident leading teams in a dynamic operational setting.
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining)
- Supervisor training (e.g. S123)
- Experience in underground mining or heavy industry
- Experience with fixed plant, dewatering and hoisting systems
- Strong leadership and people management capability
- Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong safety focus and risk awareness
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence
