Pausa Pranzo is a fast-paced Italian café located in Preston, serving handmade pasta, specialty coffee, and fresh seasonal Italian classics. We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and help shape the next chapter of our project.
Enjoy the work-life balance you’ve been looking for with Sundays, Mondays, and every evening off. Our kitchen operates daytime hours only, between 8:00am and 3:00pm.
This is your opportunity to unleash your creativity by developing weekly specials, working with the best seasonal produce, and preparing traditional Italian dishes with care, authenticity, and passion.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience in Italian cuisine, with a strong focus on fresh pasta and traditional cooking techniques. You will be confident leading and inspiring a kitchen team while managing food costs, recipe development, ordering, stock control, rostering, and maintaining the highest food safety and OHS standards. A genuine passion for authentic Italian food is essential.
While we are currently looking for a Head Chef, we are open to shaping the role around the right person. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available depending on your experience, strengths, and what you can bring to our project.
A competitive remuneration package will be offered based on your experience, along with monthly tips, a dynamic and supportive workplace, and a guaranteed summer shutdown from late December until mid-January, giving you the opportunity to properly rest and recharge each year.
