The Role
Utilising your experience and capability, this role is accountable for driving high performance across our teams, exceeding customer expectations and setting the tone on safety and standards.
You will:
- Ensure all stakeholders have clarity and that alignment is maintained with the wider business.
- Complete regular planning to meet customer demands and ensure service delivery outcomes are met, with safety front of mind.
- Successfully lead and manage teams at the Distribution Centre to achieve profitable performance, superior customer outcomes and develop future supply chain managers.
- Unlock the potential in your team members and take them on a growth journey towards their Best Version.
- Lead from the front and, when required, roll up your sleeves and get amongst it to ensure the job gets done to the highest standard.
What Are the Key Deliverables?
- Develop current and potential leaders, moulding a high-performance culture.
- Manage and monitor local performance outcomes – the Triple P's: Protect, Predictive, Productive.
- Facilitate, participate in and execute all required meetings while maintaining a curious and open-minded attitude.
- Drive best-in-craft outcomes for safety, quality, compliance and people development.
- Monitor and manage container unloads to ensure tasks are completed on time and to customer expectations.
- Continually review team performance and identify optimisation opportunities.
- Ensure data is accurate prior to, during and after shifts to ensure dependability of reports.
- Sometimes simply roll up your sleeves and get amongst it — driving forklifts, palletising stock and leading by example.
- Drive best-practice workforce planning, including proactive recruitment plans, customer forecasting and effective onboarding.
Do You Have What It Takes?
You will have proven stakeholder engagement and relationship skills, a clear mindset, great communication skills and a proven ability to get the job done.
We need someone who can connect with people and is passionate about people development. You will have a minimum of 3 years' leadership experience, along with relevant experience in the supply chain and logistics industry. Some system experience will be beneficial when working with data, information and processes.
The successful candidate will have a proven ability to work autonomously, take ownership of the role and have a team-oriented approach. Critical to your success will be your ability to motivate others towards achieving outcomes and a strong sense of developing a continuous improvement culture.
The Opportunity
This is a
full-time position, commencing with a standard probation period to ensure the role is the right fit for both you and Young Guns. For the right person, we are looking for a long-term commitment and someone who wants to grow with the business. This position is primarily based in
Kewdale, however Young Guns have multiple different locations around Perth.
A
casual employment option is also available for the right candidate if this better suits their circumstances.
This is primarily a
Monday to Friday role, with Saturday work required from time to time based on customer and operational requirements
The day starts early, with a
5:00am start, and the finish time is dependent on getting the work done and delivering the standard our customers expect. This is a hands-on leadership role, and we are looking for someone who is prepared to lead from the front and do whatever is required to get the team and the customer over the line.
