Turn Your People Skills and Local Knowledge Into a Flexible, Work-From-Home Role with Homeward Australia (Bayside)
Are you a natural at understanding what someone needs and finding it for them? Maybe you're a mum with a professional background looking for meaningful, flexible work around the family. Maybe you're already running your own relocation consulting or buyer's agent business and want an extra income stream. Either way, if you've got a corporate, property, or sales background and genuinely enjoy helping people, we want to hear from you.
Homeward Australia is growing, and we're looking for Relocation Managers (Contractors) to support our clients through the rental search process: understanding their needs, researching and shortlisting homes, attending inspections, and guiding clients to a confident decision.
Contractor role | Commission-based, ~$50/hour equivalent
How you're paid $750 per client, paid on successful property secured. Based on an expected ~15 hours per client, this works out to roughly $50 an hour.
✅ Why you'll love this role
You're in control of when you take on work. As a contractor, you choose the clients you'd like to work with, and there'll be quiet weeks with no work at all; so it suits people who want flexibility around family, another business, study, or life in general, rather than guaranteed hours.
The flip side: once you're working with a client, that client comes first. Viewings need to be attended on time, and clients need a prompt, responsive point of contact throughout their search. Hours typically run around 5 per week per client, depending on where they're at, but that time needs to fit around the client's schedule, not the other way around.
What the role actually involves
- Searching online for properties that match a client's brief, and checking the details that matter — distance to schools, public transport, and anything else relevant to their situation
- Weighing up and clearly communicating the pros and cons of each option, including short walkthrough videos
- Guiding clients through the options to a confident decision, rather than just handing over a list
- Attending inspections and viewings on time, managing them independently, and liaising directly and professionally with agents
- Representing Homeward professionally at every touchpoint
Occasionally, extra tasks come up too — things like collecting keys, accepting deliveries on a client's behalf, doing a click-and-collect run from IKEA or Kmart, or helping set up a home (making a bed, moving a mattress). These aren't the core of the role, but a hands-on, willing attitude goes a long way.
This role rewards attitude as much as experience. If you've worked in corporate, property management, or sales — or you're already a relocation consultant or buyer's agent running your own business — you already have what it takes. We'll help you build the rest.
What you'll need
✅ Valid driver's licence + your own reliable car
✅ A genuine interest in real estate and a sharp eye for home condition
✅ Excellent listening and communication skills - able to quickly understand a client's needs and translate them into the right options
✅ Comfortable creating simple videos and communicating clearly, in person and in writing ✅ Reliable and punctual - always on time to viewings
✅ Confidence liaising directly with real estate agents
✅ Flexibility to attend inspections (including weekends and weekday afternoons) based on client needs
✅ A professional, warm, self-directed approach - you'll often be representing Homeward unsupervised
✅ Bonus: existing experience as a relocation consultant, buyer's agent, or running your own client-facing business
