Purchasing Officer

About the Role
We’re a fast-moving, tight-knit team in the hydraulic hose and fittings industry and we’re looking for a critical thinking and, organised Purchasing Officer to join us at our Wangara location. This is a hands-on, on-site role. You will be a key part of keeping our operations running smoothly and inventory coming in.
You will play a critical role in the supply chain, working closely with our internal sales team, technicians, and suppliers to make sure parts are ordered, tracked, and on time. When something is needed or delays occur you will be the one who finds a solution fast and keeps everyone informed.
What You Will Be Doing (But not limited to)
- Raise purchase orders for daily backorders and upcoming jobs, proactively escalating issues and sourcing alternative suppliers where required
- Confirm purchase orders by accurately updating quantities, pricing, and delivery dates
- Follow up outstanding orders and maintain an up-to-date Purchase Order Report
- Communicate ETAs, supply issues, and delivery delays to internal sales teams and relevant stakeholders
- Coordinate couriers and collections to ensure customer and project deadlines are met
- Monitor and action the shared purchasing inbox daily, ensuring timely responses and follow-through
- Liaise with goods inward and accounts payable teams to resolve supply discrepancies and invoice issues
- Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier records within Pronto ERP
What We Are Looking For
- 2–3 years’ experience in a similar purchasing, procurement, or supply chain administration role
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve issues proactively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel
- Experience using an ERP system, with Pronto experience highly regarded
- Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
- Industry experience within hydraulics, mining, civil, or earthmoving sectors is advantageous, but not essential
