This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position commencing ASAP with possible extension
The School Financial Management and Support Branch, part of the Financial Services Directorate, is responsible for delivering transactional and finance systems support to all public schools. The Branch also provides advice on finance policy matters and delivers training in financial management and system use.
The Department is currently implementing a new Financial Management Information System (FMIS), TechnologyOne CiA, across all (830+) public schools. The transition is scheduled for completion by mid-2027, during which time the Branch will continue to support both the existing and new systems
The Role
The Senior Finance Consultant School Systems plays a key role in resolving complex school finance system support requests and providing expert advice on system enhancements and upgrades. They also oversee the implementation of data conversion, analysis, migration, and the review of financial management and accounting procedures, including revisions to the chart of accounts.
If successful, you will be responsible for identifying issues arising from policy changes, financial and taxation reforms, and the introduction of new technology or systems. The role also includes managing the reporting and analysis of customer service statistics to identify key trends and inform targeted support and continuous improvement initiatives.
