Your new role:
This role supports the Private Practice Finance team with end-to-end administrative and billing functions that ensure accurate, compliant, and timely processing of patient accounts and revenue activities, with:
Managing private practice billing, receipting, and account processing in line with Medicare and MBS guidelines
Preparing patient quotes, discharge invoices, and processing EFT payments using clinical and billing systems
Liaising with clinicians and stakeholders to confirm item numbers, referrals, and billing accuracy
Supporting revenue integrity through accurate data entry and maintenance of patient funding and eligibility details
Collaborating with internal teams to resolve billing issues and maximise own-source revenue opportunities
Contributing to process improvement, compliance, and efficient administrative workflows across the service
About you:
You are an organised and detail-focused administrator who thrives in a fast-paced health environment, with:
Strong experience (or ability to quickly learn) hospital billing, Medicare rules, and MBS item structures
Confidence using clinical and financial systems such as HBCIS, PowerChart, ieMR, or similar platforms
Excellent communication skills to liaise with clinicians, patients, and administrative teams
High attention to detail with accurate data entry and reconciliation skills
Strong time management and the ability to work independently across varied tasks
A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.
We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
