For an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, this is an opportunity to gain broad exposure across the full commercial lifecycle of a project from estimating and tendering through to cost reporting, programming and project delivery. Working closely with experienced commercial and project teams, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills, take on increasing responsibility, and build a strong foundation for a long-term career in construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with regular project cost reporting and financial tracking
- Support the preparation of cost reports, forecasts, and commercial updates
- Assist with estimating and preparing project cost plans
- Support tender preparation, analysis, and submission processes
- Assist with subcontractor and supplier procurement
- Support project programming and monitoring of project milestones
- Assist with variations, progress claims, and commercial documentation
- Maintain accurate project records and commercial reporting
- Provide ad hoc commercial and administrative support to the project and commercial teams
- Work closely with Project Managers, Contract Administrators, and senior management
About You
- Experience in an Assistant QS, Contracts Administrator, or similar commercial construction role
- Relevant experience within the construction or civil construction industry
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- An understanding of estimating, cost control, and commercial processes
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and other commercial/project management systems
- Proactive attitude with a genuine desire to develop within the commercial side of construction
