This position is with a civil company specializing in underground pipe rehabilitation across Brisbane. Rather than traditional excavation, they use advanced technology such as CCTV cameras, robotic cutters, and pipe relining systems to repair infrastructure from within.
What the Role Involves
Many of Brisbane’s underground pipes date back to the 1960s and 70s and are now deteriorating due to factors like tree root intrusion. Instead of weeks of digging, this team uses modern equipment to:
- Inspect pipelines using CCTV systems
- Clean and clear blockages with high-pressure equipment
- Install a new internal lining that extends pipe life by 50–70 years
This makes the work both technically interesting and future-focused.
