About the role
This is a role where you can truly make an impact across BOQ Group. As our Procurement Manager (Senior Commercial Manager) you’ll sit at the centre of our Group Tech function, partnering closely with stakeholders across the business to shape how we engage with technology suppliers and deliver value. From planning and sourcing through to contract negotiation and supplier management, you’ll own the end-to-end procurement lifecycle and help us make smart, commercially sound decisions that support our strategy.
You’ll work alongside senior leaders, project teams and SMEs across areas like Technology, Legal, Finance, Risk and Compliance, building strong relationships and influencing outcomes that balance cost, risk and performance.
You’ll analyse spend and market trends, lead sourcing activities, run RFx processes and negotiate complex technology contracts that create long-term value for the Group. At the same time, you’ll play a key role in strengthening supplier performance, driving continuous improvement and ensuring we meet our regulatory and governance obligations across the procurement lifecycle.
You’ll join a team that’s evolving, with the opportunity to shape how we do procurement in Technology and contribute to broader transformation initiatives. While this role doesn’t initially have direct reports, there’s scope for leadership as the function continues to grow.
About you
You’re a confident operator in a complex, fast-moving environment and bring both commercial thinking and curiosity to what you do. You’ll come with experience in banking or financial services, along with a strong background in technology or IT procurement. You understand the full procurement lifecycle and feel comfortable navigating large, complex contracts, bringing a strong legal and commercial lens to your work. If you have previously led a team this is a plus – but not a requirement.
You build trust quickly and know how to partner with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders. Your communication style is clear, considered and adaptable, and you’re just as comfortable negotiating with external vendors as you are influencing internally.
You’re commercially minded and data-driven, with the ability to analyse spend, assess market opportunities and identify where value can be unlocked. At the same time, you stay across emerging technology trends and are confident engaging with suppliers across areas like cloud, infrastructure, networking, cyber and SaaS.
