Position Overview
We are looking for a Motion Picture Systems Analyst to support the design, analysis and continuous improvement of technology solutions that enable efficient film, television and digital media production. This role works closely with production, post-production and business stakeholders to understand operational requirements, optimise workflows and implement business systems that enhance collaboration, media management and production performance. The ideal candidate is an analytical problem solver with strong systems analysis experience and the ability to bridge business needs with technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine production, post-production and digital content workflows to identify opportunities for improving system performance, operational efficiency and information flow.
- Consult with producers, production managers, editors, technical teams and business stakeholders to gather, analyse and document functional and technical requirements.
- Evaluate existing production systems and recommend technology enhancements that improve scheduling, resource planning, media asset management and workflow automation.
- Develop functional specifications, business requirements, workflow diagrams and process documentation to support software development and system integration activities.
- Analyse business processes and operational procedures to ensure technology solutions align with production objectives, compliance requirements and organisational standards.
- Coordinate the implementation of new applications, software enhancements and production workflow solutions while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Design, prepare and execute system, integration and user acceptance testing to validate functionality, performance and business requirements before deployment.
- Investigate system issues, perform root cause analysis and recommend practical solutions that improve system reliability, usability and operational effectiveness.
- Prepare user manuals, technical documentation and training materials, and deliver training sessions that support successful adoption of new technologies.
- Collaborate with software developers, infrastructure teams, vendors and third-party providers to integrate production management, digital asset management and enterprise business systems.
- Contribute to project planning by assisting with solution design, implementation schedules, resource estimation, risk identification and project documentation.
- Provide technical advice and ongoing support to stakeholders, acting as the primary liaison between business users and technical teams throughout system enhancement initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of systems analysis methodologies, business process improvement and software development lifecycles.
- Experience gathering business requirements and producing functional specifications, process models and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of business process modelling, workflow analysis and system implementation methodologies.
- Experience supporting system integration, software deployment and user acceptance testing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to recommend practical technology solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise competing demands and meet project deadlines.
- Proficiency with enterprise applications, databases and business systems within technology-driven environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the film, television, broadcasting, streaming or digital media industry.
- Knowledge of Media Asset Management (MAM), Digital Asset Management (DAM), production tracking or content management systems.
- Experience integrating third-party production platforms, workflow automation tools or cloud-based media solutions.
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum or other contemporary project delivery methodologies.

Salary: $70,000 – $120,000 per year + Super
