Job Summary
The Management Consultant provides strategic and operational advice to organisations to improve business performance, solve complex problems, reduce costs, and achieve sustainable growth. The role analyses business operations, develops practical recommendations, supports transformation initiatives, and works closely with senior stakeholders to implement business improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse business strategies, operating models, organisational structures, and processes.
- Conduct market, industry, competitor, and business research.
- Gather and analyse qualitative and quantitative data to identify business issues and opportunities.
- Work with clients and stakeholders to understand business challenges, objectives, and requirements.
- Develop strategic recommendations and practical solutions based on research and analysis.
- Prepare business cases, feasibility studies, strategic plans, financial analyses, and transformation roadmaps.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, productivity, profitability, and customer experience.
- Conduct process reviews and recommend improvements to systems, workflows, and organisational structures.
- Support business transformation, digital transformation, and change-management initiatives.
- Develop financial models, forecasts, scenarios, and cost-benefit analyses where required.
- Prepare presentations, reports, dashboards, and executive-level recommendations.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, interviews, and strategy sessions.
- Support clients throughout implementation and monitor progress against agreed objectives.
- Identify project risks, issues, dependencies, and potential mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver consulting projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Stay informed about industry developments, economic trends, technology, and emerging business practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in management consulting, strategy, business analysis, corporate strategy, or a similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent understanding of business strategy and organisational performance.
- Strong financial and commercial analysis capabilities.
- Experience conducting market research and analysing business data.
- Excellent report-writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and client relationship skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a consulting environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, master’s degree, or relevant postgraduate qualification.
- Experience with consulting frameworks such as SWOT, PESTLE, Porter’s Five Forces, and value-chain analysis.
- Knowledge of business transformation, operating-model design, or organisational change.
- Experience with data visualisation and analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Professional qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, CFA, CPA/CA, or relevant industry certification.
- Experience working with Australian organisations, government agencies, or regulated industries.
- Knowledge of Australian business, regulatory, and economic environments.
- Australian work rights or an appropriate Australian work visa.
