About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial operations of the business while providing valuable financial insights to support decision-making. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, PAYG, and other statutory obligations.
- Manage payroll, superannuation, and payroll tax compliance.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare forecasts.
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning.
- Analyse financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and inventory accounting.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, banks, and government agencies.
- Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and taxation requirements.
- Support continuous improvement of financial systems and internal controls.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
- CPA or CA qualification (or working towards completion) preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a similar accounting role.
- Strong understanding of Australian taxation and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or similar ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the wider team.
Highly Regarded
- Experience in wholesale, manufacturing, automotive, retail, or e-commerce environments.
- Experience managing inventory and cost-of-goods accounting.
- Experience improving financial systems and business processes.
