The Opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Female-Identifying Support Worker to join our team. For this specific role, we are highly preferring a worker who has lived experience as a member of the LGBTIQA+ community to support a 33-year-old participant. Shift Details
Location: Endeavour Hills, VIC
Tuesdays: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Wednesdays: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Note: This offers approximately 8 hours per week of morning weekday shifts, with the potential for additional hours in the future.
About the Participant
You will be supporting a wonderful 33-year-old participant who is focused on increasing her independence, strengthening daily living skills, and building confidence in the community.
She has a vibrant range of interests and enjoys gaming, social media, fitness, concerts, punk music, coffee outings, shopping, fashion, makeup, and attending trans community events. She is looking for a support worker who shares some of these interests and feels entirely comfortable engaging with and supporting her within her community. (Please note: The participant prefers a support environment free from religious discussions).
Responsibilities of the Role
Support the participant in leading an active lifestyle by facilitating community access, social engagement, and transport to appointments.
Accompany and actively support the participant in attending trans community events, concerts, coffee outings, and shopping trips.
Assist with household tasks to help strengthen daily living skills and encourage independence.
Build a strong, positive relationship utilizing a person-centred approach and a trauma-informed lens.
Apply transferable skills in providing care, empathy, and emotional support to help build the participant's confidence.
Maintain accurate progress notes and ensure thorough record-keeping.
Demonstrate strong computer, written, and verbal communication skills.
What We Are Looking For (Ideally)
A female-identifying support worker (lived experience as a member of the LGBTIQA+ community is highly preferred).
An open-minded, respectful, and socially progressive individual.
Someone who is completely comfortable supporting and engaging with the participant's specific community.
Shared interests in gaming, fitness, music (especially punk), fashion, makeup, or community activities will be highly regarded.
A compassionate and person-centred approach, respecting the participant's boundary of no religious discussions.

Reliable Vehicle (driving and transport will be a key part of this role)
