We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse with at least 12 months’ residential aged care experience to join our Burnside team on a permanent part-time basis, working set night shifts on Sunday and Tuesday, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts when available.

About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Burnside residential aged care service on a permanent part-time night shift basis.
You will provide clinical leadership and safe, high-quality care throughout the night. This includes overseeing clinical care, supporting safe medication management, responding to changes in residents’ needs and ensuring continuity of care.
You will also support Enrolled Nurses and Carers while helping to maintain the safety, comfort and wellbeing of residents overnight.
Set workdays: Two Sundays and one Tuesday night every fortnight, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts when available.
What You’ll Do
- Provide person-centred, evidence-based nursing care
- Deliver safe, high-quality clinical care using best-practice standards
- Provide clinical leadership and support to Enrolled Nurses and Carers
- Monitor residents’ physical, cognitive and emotional wellbeing
- Identify and respond promptly to deterioration or changes in residents’ needs
- Support safe medication management and clinical decision-making
- Coordinate clinical workloads to ensure timely and effective care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including information supporting AN-ACC
- Ensure compliance with legislation, clinical standards, aged care requirements and Sundale policies
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support holistic resident care
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive and resident-focused environment
What We’re Looking For
- A minimum of 12 months’ experience working as a Registered Nurse in residential aged care.
- Confidence working night shifts and responding to residents’ clinical needs
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making and escalation skills
- Sound knowledge of medication management, clinical documentation and care planning
- Working knowledge of AN-ACC and the Aged Care Quality Standards, or a willingness to develop this knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with limited supervision while maintaining sound clinical judgement and accountability
- Resilience, professionalism and a positive outlook
- A genuine passion for aged care and resident-focused care
- Flexibility to pick up additional shifts when available
Required Qualifications or Certificates
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Current CPR certificate
- National Police Check
- Pre-employment medical assessment
- Experience delivering high-quality clinical care in an aged care environment will be highly regarded
