Position Summary
The Plasterer (Wall and Ceiling) is responsible for installing, repairing, and finishing
plasterboard and other wall and ceiling systems across residential and commercial
construction projects to achieve high-quality finishes and compliance with building
standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Measure, cut, and install plasterboard sheets to walls and ceilings.
- Fix battens, framing supports, and suspended ceiling systems.
- Apply plaster compounds, jointing materials, and finishing coats.
- Tape, sand, and finish joints to achieve smooth surfaces.
- Repair damaged plasterboard, ceilings, and wall finishes.
- Install decorative mouldings, cornices, and feature ceiling components.
- Ensure completed work meets company quality standards and project requirements.
- Maintain safe work practices and comply with WHS regulations.
- Coordinate activities with supervisors and other trades on site.

Qualifications:
- Relevant trade qualification, such as an AQF Certificate III with at least two years of on-the-job training, or an AQF Certificate IV in plasterer or a related trade.
- Alternatively, at least three years of relevant hands-on industry experience may be accepted in place of formal qualifications.
Skills & Requirements:
- Proven experience in applying, finishing, and repairing plasterboard, composite boards, and acoustic tiles on walls and ceilings.
- Ability to measure, cut, and fix plasterboard sheets to metal or timber frameworks.
- Proficiency in mixing and applying finishing coats, jointing compounds, and textures.
- Strong spatial awareness and ability to work accurately from blueprints and technical drawings.
Pay: $79,500.00 – $90,000.00 per year
