Ongoing, full-time position based at Mipac’s Brisbane head office, with international and domestic travel opportunities.

Mipac is seeking a Senior Control and Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of complex projects across mining, energy and heavy industrial environments.
This role is suited to an engineer who is confident working across electrical design and controls integration, and who is comfortable taking ownership of technical outcomes in brownfield and operational environments.
You will work across the full project lifecycle; supporting design, integration, FAT and commissioning, while acting as a key interface between design teams, site teams and clients, ensuring solutions are practical, aligned and delivered to the right technical and operational requirements.
- Deliver electrical and control systems design and integration for brownfield and greenfield projects

Design, configuration and testing of PLC, SCADA and DCS systems.

Work across LV design (AS/NZS 3000 / 3008) with exposure to HV systems and interfaces,

Contribute to PLC, SCADA and DCS integration, including I/O, control philosophy and vendor packages

Support FAT, commissioning and site activities, including time on site where required

Manage technical queries, non-conformances and design changes in live environments

Act as a key point of coordination between internal design teams, site personnel, clients and vendors

Work closely with the design office to review, challenge and implement design changes, ensuring alignment with site conditions and project requirements

Build strong working relationships with stakeholders to resolve issues, manage changes and drive outcomes

Take ownership of defined project components, ensuring quality, compliance and delivery outcomes
You are an experienced engineer who:

Has delivered electrical and control systems in industrial environments (mining, energy, petrochemical or similar)

Has hands-on exposure to PLC and/or SCADA systems (e.g. Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Yokogawa or similar).

Has exposure to controls integration (PLC/DCS/SIS environments)

Is comfortable working in brownfield environments with legacy systems and incomplete documentation

Demonstrates strong ownership and accountability for technical outcomes

Communicates effectively with clients and can operate confidently in a client-facing role

Has experience supporting commissioning or site delivery activities

RPEQ and CPEng
- Desire to learn/further develop LV electrical design

Hazardous area experience (desirable)

Exposure to HV systems or substations (desirable)
