Farley Riggs is looking for a hands-on and reliable Sandblaster / Painter to join our Edinburgh workshop.
This is a full-time role working mainly on industrial pipework and equipment. You will be involved in sandblasting, surface preparation, priming and painting, while helping keep the blast and paint area organised and ready for work.
We are open to candidates with experience, but we are also willing to train the right person who has a strong work ethic, is practical, reliable and willing to learn.
About the role
You will be responsible for:
- Sandblasting and preparing mild steel pipework and equipment
- Surface preparation, masking, priming and painting
- Keeping the blast and paint shed clean, organised and safe
- Monitoring paint, blasting media, PPE and other consumables
- Letting the team know when stock is running low
- Assisting with loading, unloading and movement of equipment
- Using workshop tools and equipment safely
- Helping with other workshop duties when required
- Following safety procedures and wearing required PPE
Over time, we are looking for someone who can take day-to-day ownership of the blast and paint area and keep the workflow moving.
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- Hands-on and willing to get their hands dirty
- Reliable and keen to work
- Physically fit and comfortable with practical workshop work
- Able to work independently once shown what is required
- Comfortable working as part of a team
- Willing to take direction and ask questions when unsure
- Organised and able to keep track of stock and consumables
- Safety focused and takes pride in their work
Previous sandblasting, industrial painting, powder coating, fabrication, workshop or similar experience would be highly regarded, but is not essential for the right person.
A forklift licence is preferred, or you must be willing to obtain one.
A current driver’s licence is preferred.

Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
