Permanent Part-time Position with immediate start`
Our very busy cafe in Napier Street, Essendon is seeking an energetic and passionate All Rounder Barista to join our young and enthusiastic team in a permanent capacity.
Applicants must have a strong work ethic, be committed to the position and the hours, loyal, trustworthy and with a passion for serving great food and coffee with a personality to contribute to the fun and positive atmosphere of the café.
Requirements include:
- Previous experience as an all-rounder barista (minimum of 2 years experience)
- Previous experience working in a café covering the preparation and service of food and beverages
- Greeting and seating customers
- Interacting with customers
- Serving food and beverages
- Liaising with kitchen regarding customer orders
- Making coffee
- Using the kitchen blender and other kitchen machinery to prepare drinks
- Clearing tables and washing up
- Taking payment and handling cash
- Operating the cash register
- Able to handle high volume service with the ability to work well under pressure and stay calm under pressure
- Comfortable in a fast-paced setting
- Demonstrate initiative, with a strong focus on detail and delivering excellent customer service
- Right attitude, including high energy levels, hardworking, reliable, honest, passionate, always welcoming and smiling to customers.
- Must be able to provide consistency of quality work performance.
- Re-stocking items in display cabinets, fridges, etc as directed by head Café Manager
- Maintaining food hygiene ad safety standards
- Ensuring all processes run smoothly to support head Café Manager
- Have at least a minimum of 1.5 years’ experience as a cafe/restaurant worker
- Have the right to work in Australia
Desirable:
Hold a Food Handling Certificate
The position is a permanent part-time position working a 20-25 hour week (6.30am to 3pm excluding breaks) over a 5 day-period which will include a Saturday or Sunday. Rosters are prepared a week in advance. Further details will be provided during interview. Rate is the current award rate, however this is negotiable depending on experience.
