HARVEST QUALITY CONTROL OFFICER - Casual
Costa’s Citrus operations in Riverland, South Australia, are seeking individuals to join our team as Casual Quality Control Officer for our citrus harvest. We have an immediate start opportunity available at our site in Renmark, South Australia.
We’re seeking reliable, detail-oriented team members to help us deliver top-quality citrus fruit to domestic and international markets. Perfect for those wanting hands-on experience in a fast-paced, supportive environment and are keen to contribute to one of Australia’s largest citrus operations.
About the Role
The Quality Control Officer performs on farm quality and safety assessments during the harvesting process in order to improve the quality of fruit harvested. Assessments include sampling fruit, checking for rot, splits, long stems, button damage, and unpicked fruit. The role is pivotal to the maintenance of Costa’s quality standards and ensuring compliance to picking specifications.
What you will be doing:
- Carrying out inspections and quality checks on citrus fruit in patch

Identification of poorly picked fruit or fruit which doesn’t meet the quality standards

Communicating non-conformation with picking standards to pickers

Accurately completing electronic or paper-based QA records

Monitoring production processes and escalating any issues

Working closely with Supervisors and Harvest Teams to maintain food safety standards
About you
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

Willingness to work outdoors with excellent attendance and a positive attitude
- Capacity to undertake moderate physical activity, including regular walking, bending, and reaching

Availability to work a regular roster, including weekends

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Ability to work autonomously and follow instructions

Strong attention to detail

Basic literacy and English language skills

Current driver’s licence
- Punctual, reliable, and able to commit to consistent work during the harvest period

Prior experience in packing or quality control is an advantage but not essential
