About the role.
Inca Home Services is looking for experienced and qualified, Disability & Mental Health Support Mentors to join our Day Program, Community and SIL teams on the Central Coast NSW. Our focus in on maintaining functional abilities, skill building, promoting independence and achieving the participants goals. As a Disability & Mental Health Mentor, you will provide tailored individual supports to our participants living with complex needs and have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our clients. This role is a casual position with the view of working towards part time in the near future.
Essential qualifications of the role
- Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health, Community Services or in a related field and/or equivalent experience working in a relevant setting.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Disability or Mental Health Support
- Hold a current NSW Working with Children check (WWCC)
- Current First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate
- National Police check with a minimum of 6 months validity.
- Current Driver’s license with own transport and Comprehensive Insurance
- Hold a current NDIS work screening check
- Demonstrated understanding of working with vulnerable people to live their best life
- Experience in working with people with Disabilities, Mental Health and Complex Behaviours
- Flexibility to work on weekdays and or weekends.
- Candidates must hold a valid work visa or have Australian work rights
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will:
- Facilitate engaging group programs and activities.
- Support participants with community access and social inclusion.
- Promote independence and skill development.
- Assist participants with personal care when required.
- Complete accurate progress notes, incident reports, and program documentation.
- Follow participant support plans, behaviour support plans, and mealtime management plans.
- Ensure participant safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming program environment.
- Contribute ideas for new programs and activities.
- Support positive participant outcomes and goal achievement.

- Are comfortable engaging participants who may be socially withdrawn.
