Tow Truck Operator
Amalgamated Towing is looking for a reliable and experienced Tow Truck Operator to join our growing Brisbane-based team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their truck, works safely and knows how to deal professionally with customers during stressful situations. You will be trusted to work independently, make sensible decisions on the road and represent our business to a high standard.
The Role
Depending on your experience and licence class, your work may include:
- General vehicle towing and roadside assistance
- Breakdown and accident recovery
- Private property towing
- Transporting cars, four-wheel drives, machinery and commercial vehicles
- Operating tilt trays, wheel-lift trucks and other towing equipment
- Safely loading, securing and unloading vehicles and equipment
- Communicating with customers, dispatchers, insurers and commercial clients
- Completing job details, photographs, dockets and required paperwork
- Conducting daily pre-start checks and reporting faults
- Keeping your allocated truck clean, secure and well presented
What We Are Looking For
The successful applicant will have:
- A current MR, HR or HC driver licence, depending on the position
- Previous towing, transport, tilt-tray, recovery or machinery experience
- A strong understanding of load restraint and safe vehicle handling
- Good mechanical awareness and practical problem-solving skills
- A professional attitude and clear communication skills
- The ability to remain calm when dealing with difficult or stressful situations
- Strong reliability, time management and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently without constant supervision
- A commitment to workplace health and safety
- A good driving history
- The physical ability to safely perform towing and recovery duties
- Availability to work a rotating roster, including some nights and weekends
Applicants with experience operating wheel-lift trucks, tilt trays, heavy towing equipment or machinery transport vehicles will be highly regarded.

Pay: $49,900.00 – $123,723.84 per year
