The Network Planning and Delivery team sits within the Service Planning and Infrastructure section and is responsible for planning passenger transport services\ across Queensland. The team plans and improves bus and ferry services, integrating the network to create more travel options for the community.
The team key activities include:
- Designing networks and timetables that meet customer needs and use resources efficiently.
- Delivering service changes across Queensland.
- Working with delivery partners to improve network efficiency.
- Supporting strategic planning and investment in better travel options.
THE ROLE
The Senior Service Planner works in a customer-focused environment to plan and deliver multi-modal public transport service improvements across Queensland. The role focuses on developing practical transport solutions that respond to current and
emerging travel needs in the community.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Manage the planning and development of proposals for public transport service improvements, communicate and gain approval and successfully implement associated service changes.
- Analyse data and undertake high level timetable preparation to inform service or network changes and ensure proposed service changes are operationally affordable and can be implemented.
- Monitor and evaluate service performance to ensure investment represents value for money for the state government.
- Influence internal and external stakeholders in collaborative manner to address issues and identify opportunities for public transport networks.
- Provide timely input to correspondence (Cabinet submissions, ministerial correspondence, customer concerns and briefing notes) and provide advice into matters such as development applications and strategic planning to meet government requirements.
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate would have a tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated professional experience in transport planning, urban planning, transport economics, or a related field. Experience in public transport network and service planning will be highly regarded.
You can work through complexity, adapt to changing priorities and make sound decisions using evidence and judgement. You can analyse detailed information, explain your decisions clearly and work with others to consider different perspectives. You will communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders and build positive working relationships. You will also contribute to team objectives, take responsibility for your work and use effective planning and organisation to deliver outcomes. You will bring a strong focus on governance by identifying and managing risks, considering practical solutions and supporting appropriate risk controls.
