The Role
We are seeking an experienced Database Specialist to join our team supporting telecommunications platforms and applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, performance optimisation, security, and availability of enterprise database environments while ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Administer, maintain, and support enterprise database environments across production, development, testing, and disaster recovery platforms.
· Ensure database availability, performance, integrity, and security for mission-critical telecommunications applications.
· Perform proactive monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and health checks.
· Manage database installations, upgrades, patching, migrations, and configuration changes.
· Support incident, problem, and change management activities in accordance with ITIL processes.
· Investigate and resolve database-related incidents within agreed SLA and KPI targets.
· Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to minimize service disruptions.
· Manage database backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery processes.
· Support high availability and business continuity requirements for telecom services.
· Collaborate with application, infrastructure, network, and security teams to ensure optimal platform performance.
· Develop and maintain operational documentation, standard operating procedures, and technical runbooks.
· Participate in planned maintenance activities and on-call support rotations as required.
· Ensure compliance with security policies, governance standards, and operational procedures.
· Identify opportunities for automation and continuous service improvement.
Required Experience
· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Database Administration or Database Support roles.
· Experience working within Managed Services, IT Operations, or Enterprise Support environments.
· Proven experience supporting large-scale, high-availability database platforms.
· Experience managing production environments with strict SLA and KPI requirements.
· Experience supporting telecommunications, service provider, or mission-critical enterprise environments is highly desirable.

· ITIL Foundation certification preferred.
· Experience supporting Telecom OSS/BSS platforms, Billing Systems, CRM platforms, Subscriber Management Systems, or Network Management Systems is highly desirable.
· Experience working within 24x7 operational support environments.
