Choose Your Own Adventure in Inverell
Inverell is at an important turning point. With a busy Emergency Department, strong demand across general practice, and a community that values consistency, Inverell is ready to welcome clinicians who want meaningful work, authentic collegiality, and a lifestyle that gives back more than it takes.
Inverell District Hospital is seeking to engage Rural Generalists with advanced skills in Emergency Medicine and General Practitioners with a strong interest in emergency medicine to deliver comprehensive primary care, inpatient and emergency care to the Inverell community. A range of employment options are available, including Staff Specialist, Fee for Service or Sessional Visiting Medical Officer appointments.
What you’ll be doing
If you’re a Rural Generalist or Specialist GP who thrives on challenge, variety and scope, Inverell offers the opportunity to deepen your practice in all the right ways. You can combine General Practice with Emergency care, supervise trainees, influence models of care, and take on teaching through UNE. With flexible work arrangements, hybrid models, and a region investing heavily in training and innovation, this is a role you build a meaningful career around, not just fill a roster with.
What our doctors love about working in Inverell
The staff are friendly, supportive, and collaborative. The hospital management and staff have cultivated a solution focused culture and are invested in continually improving the department and the care we provide to our patients. I feel appreciated by patients and truly believe my presence makes a difference in their lives. Coordinating care with specialist teams at referral centres saves patients unnecessary transfers and allows them to receive care close to home. Starting gold standard care locally for critically unwell patients and giving them the same chance of recovery as in a tertiary ED is incredibly fulfilling. – Dr Joel Kiburi
