People Services Officer

The Role
We are looking for an on-site People Services Officer to join our People & Culture team and play a key role in delivering high-quality, consistent, and timely HR services across the employee lifecycle.
Reporting to the Executive General Manager – P&C you will work alongside two other officers in a hands-on, operational role. This opportunity is ideally suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving, getting the details right, and takes pride in owning the task from start to finish.

What your day will look like:
Act as the first point of contact for People & Culture queries, providing timely and accurate advice
Handle more complex enquiries that involve investigation and interpretation
Manage employee end-to-end lifecycle activities (onboarding, termination, variations)
Manage accurate employee records at all times across HR systems
Manage our shared inboxes (including a ticket-based system) and queries in line with our service level agreements
Identify process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Escalate matters appropriately while maintaining ownership of the task
You have:
Experience in an HR administration/shared services role
Experience working with HR systems and data (HRIS experience highly regarded)
Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to work
Strong HR foundations, with experience in interpreting policies, awards and agreements
Experience with managing competing priorities in a busy environment
Clear written and verbal communication skills
A strong sense of ownership and accountability
An ability to pick up new technologies and software, including web-based platforms
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel
