Franklyn Blinds, Awnings & Security is looking for an experienced Sewing Machinist to join our curtain department in Rochedale.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working with fabric, takes pride in quality workmanship, and wants a stable long-term role with a well-established Brisbane business.
What you’ll be doing
- Operating industrial sewing machines to manufacture curtains and window furnishings
- Measuring, preparing and sewing fabrics accurately
- Completing hems, joins and finishing work to a high standard
- Following production specifications and customer requirements
- Performing quality checks throughout the manufacturing process
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area
What we’re looking for
You don’t need a perfect resume — we’re looking for someone with the right skills and attitude.
You will need:
- Previous sewing experience (essential)
- Industrial sewing experience highly regarded
- Experience with curtains, textiles, upholstery or similar products preferred
- Ability to produce accurate, consistent work
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
Experience with curtain manufacturing, overlocking, hemming or similar production sewing will be highly regarded.
What we offer
- $33.94 per hour casual starting rate
- Opportunity to transition into permanent full-time employment after 3–6 months based on performance
- Permanent full-time salary package available upon progression
- Monday to Friday day shift
- Early finish Fridays
