Join our Group Treasury team and play a key role in supporting the accurate, timely and well-controlled delivery of treasury operations across Metcash.
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Treasury Operations Analyst to join our Finance team in Macquarie Park.
Reporting to the Group Treasurer, you’ll provide operational, administrative and accounting support across treasury transactions, banking activities, cash management, loans and financial reconciliations. You’ll help maintain strong governance and controls while delivering responsive support to our internal teams and external banking partners.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in treasury, finance operations, banking operations, accounts payable or financial markets who is ready to broaden their exposure within a collaborative corporate treasury environment.
- Process and settle treasury transactions, including debt servicing, interest payments, derivative settlements and intercompany funding
- Monitor daily cash movements, bank transfers and account balances
- Support daily cash position reporting
- Assist with opening and closing bank accounts, banking mandates and authorised signatory registers
- Administer user access and maintain profiles across banking platforms and Treasury systems
- Coordinate the issuance, amendment, reporting and cancellation of bank guarantees
- Prepare Treasury-related journals, including interest accruals, foreign exchange entries and intercompany funding transactions
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end and year-end processes
- Maintain accurate records and reporting for customer and joint venture loans
- Manage enquiries through the Treasury Service Centre mailbox
- Support internal and external audit requests
- Identify opportunities to improve Treasury processes, reporting and operational efficiency
- Provide broader operational support to the Treasury team, including project and leave coverage
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Economics or Finance
- At least two years’ experience in corporate treasury, finance operations, accounts payable, banking operations or a financial markets environment
- Experience processing financial transactions and completing reconciliations accurately
- Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls and governance requirements
- An understanding of cash management, banking products, loans, deposits, foreign exchange contracts or financial derivatives
- Experience using banking platforms, ERP systems or financial information processing systems
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across the business and with external banking partners
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, learning and continuous improvement
- Exposure to Treasury Management Systems such as Kyriba, Quantum, FIS, IT2 or similar would be advantageous, but isn’t essential
