Details: Within the Infrastructure Planning unit, the Asset and Data Integration (ADI) team supports Roads ACT and City Presentation in managing Canberra’s public infrastructure and places. Our work focuses on maintaining high-quality asset and spatial data to support planning, operations and infrastructure management.
We are seeking a CAD and Spatial Data Officer to fill a six‑month temporary vacancy. This role is focused on the quality, consistency and management of Traffic Control Device (TCD) and Works as Executed (WAE) AutoCAD data. You will play an important role in ensuring engineering drawings and asset data meet required standards and are accurately captured and maintained.
Key Responsibilities

Review and validate Traffic Control Device (TCD) and Works as Executed (WAE) AutoCAD submissions to ensure compliance with drafting standards

Maintain and manage the TCD AutoCAD Grid, ensuring data is accurate, current and complete

Record and manage asset documentation within a Common Data Environment

Provide clear advice and support to staff and stakeholders on CAD, TCD data and related standards

Maintain and improve the quality and consistency of spatial and asset data across systems

Eligibility/ Other Requirements:

Relevant qualifications in engineering, drafting, spatial sciences or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, are desirable.
Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of up to six months. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. This position operates in an activity-based working (ABW) environment, where staff do not have a designated workstation. Flexible working arrangements are supported, including a mix of working from home, office-based work, and FlexiSpace locations across the ACT.
