Collie Trainer Wanted – Melbourne Based
Collie Farm Stays is looking for a reliable and experienced trainer to help with our Collie Play Days across Melbourne.
This role is best suited to someone who genuinely understands Border Collies and high energy working breeds. You must be calm, confident, organised and able to manage Collies safely during structured play, enrichment, recall work and outings.
About the role
Sessions may range from one session per day up to three sessions per day, depending on bookings and customer needs.
You will need to travel to customers across the Melbourne CBD, eastern suburbs and surrounding areas, so your own reliable car is essential.
This is a contractor role, so you must be set up to work as an independent contractor.
We are looking for someone who:
Has proven Border Collie or working breed experience
Holds, or is currently completing, a recognised dog training qualification, ideally the Certificate III in Dog Behaviour and Training
May also hold a relevant animal care qualification, such as Certificate III in Animal Care Services
Has their own reliable car in good condition
Is set up as an independent contractor, including ABN and appropriate insurance
Is prepared to travel across Melbourne for customer sessions
Is reliable, punctual and professional
Can provide strong references
Is comfortable working independently with customers and their Collies
Understands safe handling, recall, enrichment and structured play
Is active, confident and physically capable of managing high energy Collies
Pay
$65 per session
This is a great role for someone who loves Collies, understands working breeds and takes pride in doing things properly. Reliability is essential, as our customers trust us with a very personal service and their Collies’ care.
