The Role
At Beef & Bar Restaurant, we focus on providing a high-quality dining experience with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. As part of our team, you will:
Chefs/cooks
- Plan menus, manage budgets, and train kitchen staff.
- Prepare and cook meals, ensuring taste, presentation, and portion control meet set standards.
- Ensure excellent service and high-quality food, maintaining consistency in all dishes.
- Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing to ensure consistent quality.
- Focus on health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with food hygiene regulations.
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and minimise waste through effective inventory control.
- Ensure proactive preparation for service, including mise en place and advance cooking.
- Inspect and clean kitchen equipment, and arrange for repairs when necessary.
- Collaborate with management to design seasonal menus and specials.
Bar Attendants
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring excellent presentation and quality.
- Mix cocktails and recommend drinks based on customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, glassware, and equipment.
- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner to enhance their experience.
- Take beverage orders accurately and process payments.
- Monitor bar stock, restock shelves and fridges, and order supplies when required.
- Comply with responsible service of alcohol (RSA) laws and licensing requirements.
- Prepare garnishes and maintain bar mise en place for service readiness.
- Remove empty bottles, wash glasses, and dispose of waste appropriately.
Restaurant Manager
- Oversee daily front- and back-of-house operations to ensure smooth service.
- Lead, supervise, and train staff to maintain service excellence.
- Ensure food and beverage service meets quality, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and handle complaints promptly.
- Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency.
- Manage rosters, wages, and budgets to meet profitability targets.
- Coordinate with suppliers to order and maintain adequate stock levels.
- Develop marketing and promotional activities to attract customers.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular staff performance reviews and training programs.
Waiters
- Greet customers, present menus, and take food and beverage orders accurately.
- Serve meals and drinks promptly and efficiently, ensuring correct orders.
- Prepare tables for service, including setting up cutlery, crockery, and glassware.
- Provide menu recommendations and assist with wine pairing if applicable.
- Monitor tables to attend to guests’ needs during service.
- Clear tables, reset for the next customers, and maintain a clean dining area.
- Process payments and issue receipts.
- Follow safe food handling and hygiene practices at all times.
- Assist in stock rotation and replenishment of condiments and service areas.
Kitchen Hands
- Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients for chefs as directed.
- Operate dishwashers to clean crockery, cutlery, and kitchen utensils.
- Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, storage areas, and equipment.
- Receive and store deliveries, ensuring correct stock rotation.
- Dispose of rubbish and maintain cleanliness in food preparation areas.
- Assist in basic cooking or plating tasks under chef supervision.
- Follow workplace health and safety and food hygiene guidelines.
- Help with kitchen set-up before service and pack-down after service.
Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

- General Requirements for All Roles:
- At least 1 years of relevant experience in a busy environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver great service.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- A high level of attention to detail and a passion for providing excellent service.
- Flexible to work split shifts, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Chefs/Cooks:
- Cert III, IV, or a Diploma in Hospitality.
- Proven track record in food production and kitchen management.
- Ability to train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
- Bar Attendants:
- 1 year of Experience in preparing and serving drinks.
- Knowledge of various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and cocktail recipes is a plus.
- Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Waiters:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in food and beverage service is preferred
- Good communication and customer service skills are required
- Knowledge of safe food handling and hygiene practices is essential
- Ability to take orders accurately and work efficiently under pressure
- Kitchen hands:
- 1 year experience in a commercial kitchen is required
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Understanding of basic food hygiene and safety practices
- Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Annual Salary Ranges {annually}
- Chefs: $77,000 – $80,000
- Restaurant Managers: $75,000 – $85,000
- Waiters: $70,000 – $75,000
- Kitchen hands: $70,000- $75,000
- Bar Attendants: $70,000 – $75,000
Job Type and Category- All positions are fulltime- Minimum 38 hours per week
