Disability Support Worker – Casual Position

Red Rose Support Services is a passionate, growing NDIS provider based in the greater Brisbane area. We are dedicated to delivering personalised, high-quality support that empowers participants to achieve their goals, build independence, and live fulfilling lives. Our focus includes specialist support for people with psychosocial disabilities (such as autism, schizophrenia, and other mental health conditions) as well as acquired brain injuries (ABI).
We are seeking a reliable, professional casual Disability Support Worker - 1 x male and 1x female to join our team.
About the Role
This is a regular casual position with community access and assistance with daily living shifts supporting a female participant in new farm and a male participant in Caboolture.
- No personal care is required.
- The role focuses on community participation, social inclusion, goal-oriented activities, and building positive relationships.
Additional opportunities include:
- Filling in for other shifts with these participants, including last-minute coverage when needed and weekend shifts.
- Supporting other participants in the Brisbane and Moreton bay areas.
- Immediate start for the right person with holiday coverage hours coming up $$$.
Key Requirements
- Flexibility is essential: You must be available to work weekends, mornings, and be willing to cover shifts at short notice when required.
- Minimum 1 year of paid experience NON NEGOTIABLE in disability support (applications without this experience will not be considered. Please don't waste our or your time.
- Highly regarded: Direct experience working with participants who have autism, acquired brain injuries (ABI), schizophrenia, or other psychosocial disabilities.
- Female workers who speak Mandarin highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of professional boundaries — ability to set and maintain clear boundaries while respecting participant boundaries.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable and confident supporting people with a range of complex needs in a person-centered, respectful way.
Shift lengths vary, with weekend and public holiday shifts available (attracting penalty rates).
Essential Requirements
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (yellow card)
- Reliable, insured vehicle and current Open QLD Driver’s Licence
- Smartphone with ability to use ShiftCare / Astalty (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Right to work in Australia
- Fluent English (written and verbal)
- Proven ability to write clear, detailed case notes and reports
