Disability Support Worker - Child (Autism, Intellectual Disability & Epilepsy) | Mount Waverley
Casual | 3–4 days per week | 9am–12pm

About the Role
Compassionate Care Network is seeking a compassionate, patient, and resilient Disability Support Worker to support a 7-year-old boy with autism, intellectual disability, and epilepsy.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children and supporting those with complex needs and behaviours of concern. Building trust, maintaining a calm approach, and creating a positive, engaging environment are key to success in this role.
Shifts Available
School Morning Supports (4 mornings per week)
- 7:00 am – 9:30 am
- Assist with breakfast
- Support with personal hygiene
- Assist with dressing for school
- School drop-off
School Afternoon Supports
- 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm
- School pick-up
- Prepare an afternoon meal
- Walks to and from the park
- Engage in play and meaningful activities
- Assist with preparing for the evening routine
Additional weekend support may also be available as required.
About the Participant
The participant is a bright and engaging 7-year-old boy living with:
- Autism
- Intellectual disability
- Epilepsy
He can present with behaviours of concern, including hair pulling, grabbing, challenges with personal space, toileting support, and feeding difficulties. These behaviours fluctuate over time and require a support worker who can remain calm, consistent, and supportive.

- Experienced supporting children with challenging behaviours
- Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
- Able to maintain a positive connection during difficult moments
- Confident maintaining appropriate personal boundaries while providing compassionate support
- Reliable, professional, and committed to delivering person-centred care
Essential Requirements
- Experience supporting children with autism and/or intellectual disability
- Experience managing behaviours of concern
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee)
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Current Australian Driver Licence and reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle
- Full working rights in Australia
