Martial Arts Queensland is committed to helping people of all ages develop confidence, discipline, fitness and practical self-defence skills in a welcoming and professional environment.
We're looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and reliable Martial Arts Coach to join our team. Whether you're an experienced instructor, an accomplished martial artist looking to move into coaching, or someone with experience coaching children in another sport, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
You'll be involved in:
- Teaching martial arts classes for children, teens and adults
- The majority of your coaching will be with children, helping them build confidence, discipline, resilience and respect in a fun and engaging environment
- Providing exceptional customer service to members and prospective students
- Supporting the day-to-day operations of the academy such as cleaning and admin
- Maintaining a positive, professional and welcoming training environment
Typical Hours Full-Time - 38h per week, spread across 5 days with our typical days being one of the below
- Monday to Friday: Approximately 10:30am – 6:30pm
- Saturday: Approximately 7:30am – 3:30pm
Part-Time - hours dependent on successful applicant - but needs to be available weekday afternoons between 3.30-6.30pm and Saturday mornings. Days can be negotiated.
(Some flexibility may be required for special events or grading days.)

- Comfortable leading groups of children with enthusiasm and confidence
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Positive, energetic and a great team player
- Keen to continue learning and developing as an instructor
Martial Arts & Coaching Experience
We provide comprehensive training in our martial arts systems, so you do not need experience in our specific style.
Experience in any of the following martial arts would be highly regarded:
- Japanese Jujitsu
- Kenpo Karate
- Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)
- Muay Thai
Applicants with backgrounds in other martial arts are also strongly encouraged to apply, including:
We also encourage applications from people with experience coaching children in other sports or activities. If you've coached kids in sports such as gymnastics, football, rugby league, rugby union, AFL, netball, basketball, swimming, dance, cheerleading or similar, we'd love to hear from you. We'll teach you our martial arts systems—the ability to engage, motivate and inspire young people is just as important.
