South Freo Continental is seeking an Experienced Restaurant Manager for our afternoon and dinner service. We are a successful breakfast and brunch cafe by day and a Trattoria by night. Our trattoria offers traditional Italian cuisine.
Your responsibilities
- Setting up the restaurant for upcoming service/s
- Keeping menus and wine list accurate and loaded in the system
- Maintain and monitor stock levels in line with budget.
- Supervise the floor staff and drive continuous improvement in accuracy of order inputs and customer focus.
- Planning the staff roster - Take reservations, stagger sittings, confirm reservations, turn tables.
- Greet guests when they arrive at the restaurant
- Have an excellent knowledge of food and beverages provided. Offer immediate flexibility around food offering for gluten free and other dietary requirements.
- At the close of service, reconcile the till and perform the cash up. Leave restaurant in go position for next day.
- Use the POS system, ensure it is kept current with any menu changes.
- Manage customer feedback
- Interaction with customers to assess their satisfaction. This task will extend to monitoring comments on social media
- Assist with the training and development with staff, particularly for upselling and repeat bookings.
- Enforce the Responsible Service of Alcohol guidelines for both staff and guests.
- Demonstrate ability to apply OH&S processes and achieve high standards of food hygiene.
- Coordinate and control daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations
- Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
- Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices and restaurant procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager is essential
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment
- Sound understanding of restaurant operations and customer service
- RSA and Approved Manager

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
