Strive to Thrive Education Centre is looking for compassionate, patient and capable educators to support students who learn differently.
We are especially interested in special education teachers, learning support educators, education assistants, pre-service teachers and experienced tutors who have worked with students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia and other learning differences.
This is an in-centre tutoring role at our Canning Vale education centre.
The role is ideal for someone who understands that every student learns differently and can adapt their teaching style to help students build confidence, independence and academic skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individual and small-group tutoring sessions
- Support students in English, Maths, literacy, numeracy and general learning skills
- Adapt explanations, activities and lesson pace to suit individual learning needs
- Break concepts into clear, manageable steps
- Support students with organisation, attention, executive functioning and confidence
- Assist with homework, school assessments and revision where appropriate
- Provide clear feedback on student progress
- Work collaboratively with our education team to support each student consistently
Experience We Value

- Specific learning difficulties
- Executive functioning challenges
- Attention and concentration difficulties
- Literacy and numeracy learning gaps
- Learning anxiety or low academic confidence
- Students who benefit from structured, differentiated or sensory-aware teaching approaches
Who We’re Looking For
You may be:
- A qualified primary or secondary teacher
- A special education teacher
- A learning support teacher or educator
- An education assistant
- A pre-service teacher studying Education
- An experienced tutor with strong learning-support experience
You should be patient, calm, encouraging, reliable and able to explain concepts in different ways.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants should ideally have one or more of the following:
- Teaching or education qualification
- Current Education degree studies
- Special education or learning-support experience
- Education assistant experience
- Relevant tutoring experience
A current Working With Children Check will be required for successful candidates.
Availability
We are particularly looking for tutors available:
- Weekday afternoons and evenings
- Saturdays/Sundays
- At our Canning Vale centre
