In this role, you'll:
Work within our Coordinator General Team at Transport for NSW, the primary purpose of our Transport Operations Controller is to take responsibility to proactively monitor, identify and respond to disruptions on the transport network in real-time.
The role assists in implementing incident management activities to optimise traffic flow and improve network efficiency so that customers journeys are connected, safe and reliable.
About you
The role is responsible to pro-actively monitor, identify, and independently assess incidents, congestion and delays on the NSW road network, transport corridors and freight routes in real-time and assist by responding to planned and unplanned events requiring traffic management intervention.
You will support and provide clear, concise transport information and offer recommendations that minimise network disruptions and heighten the response across all modes of transport.
You will provide accurate and up-to-date information to all stakeholders in a timely manner.
You will proactively monitor and manage the implementation of clearways, bus lanes, transit lanes and other prescribed places by dispatching tow trucks and field resources to ensure maximum utilisation of the road network.
You will also ensure accurate details are recorded across all systems for the purpose of meeting report writing standards and procedures.
Finally, you will maintain an operational overview of the traffic signal and other ITS systems to enhance efficiency and road safety across the network by responding to faults and report operational issues.
