What you'll be doing
The Department of Psychological Medicine is a networked department with Sydney Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and provides child and adolescent services to inpatients at the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network, specialty clinics, including Safe Haven, outpatient clinics, OCD Bounce Clinic and Telemedicine and Outreach Services to NSW rural areas.
The Administrative Officer will be required to provide high level administrative support to the Medical Director, team leader for Safe Haven and multi-disciplinary clinicians and is required to have excellent work ethics, flexibility, initiative and the ability to manage conflicting priorities and competing demands, including the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
The position requires a professional demeanour, strong problem-solving ability, and exceptional organisational, written and verbal communication abilities. The role involves exercising sound judgement, logical thinking, service excellence, and open communication. Working with limited direction, the position is responsible for managing work priorities, exercising initiatives, and maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of work.

Demonstrated experience in administrative support in a complex environment, preferably in a health or care environment.

Well-developed oral, written communication and interpersonal skills and a professional approach with stakeholders at all levels.

Proven proficiency in using PC based software including Microsoft Office, preferably with experience using Oracle, Health Roster and ROB or similar systems.

Proven high level organisational skills including the ability to effectively prioritise workload, meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities and problem-solving skills

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a busy team, assisting colleagues as required.

Ability to work proactively on allocated tasks with minimal supervision and within tight deadlines whilst exercising appropriate judgement in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues and/or documents.

Willingness and flexibility to undertake administrative or support functions at short notice when requested by relevant managers, to assist in the smooth running of the team and Department.
