You will ideally have more than five years of post-admission experience undertaking advice and litigation related to regulatory assessment, enforcement, criminal and administrative law.
This position requires:
Admission or eligibility for immediate admission as a barrister, solicitor, or legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland
Exceptional communication skills including the ability to write clearly, succinctly and with attention to detail and be able to influence, negotiate and collaborate with a range of key stakeholders on complex legal matters.
Knowledge or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of Environmental Law, Planning Law, Criminal Law, Statutory interpretation, Litigation procedure and legislation administered by the Department
An ability to effectively manage complex individual litigation files with limited supervision including applying high-level analytical, problem solving and research skills
A demonstrated ability to operate in a team environment and contribute to team culture
Leadership skills through, for example: mentoring other lawyers, improving practices and procedures within a team, and developing effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
