Disability Support Worker – Constitution Hill
We are currently seeking experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our growing team at our Constitution Hill accommodation service. This role involves supporting participants to achieve their goals, maintain their independence, and enhance their quality of life in a safe and respectful environment.
Available Shifts
Applicants must be available to work a combination of the following shifts from Monday to Sunday:
- 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (Day Shift)
- 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm (Afternoon Shift)
- Sleepover Shift (Overnight Support)
Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, public holidays, and rotating rosters is essential. Staff must be available for ongoing, regular shifts and be willing to work across all shift types as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred support tailored to each participant's individual needs.
- Assist participants with personal care, hygiene, dressing, grooming, and medication assistance (where authorised).
- Support participants with community access, appointments, shopping, recreational activities, and social engagement.
- Transport participants safely to appointments, community activities, shopping, and other outings.
- Promote participant choice, independence, dignity, and inclusion at all times.
- Implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans and follow restrictive practice guidelines where applicable.
- Maintain accurate progress notes, incident reports, and daily documentation.
- Assist with meal preparation, household cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment.
- Support participants with daily living skills and capacity-building activities.
- Work collaboratively with families, support coordinators, allied health professionals, and other members of the care team.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow organisational policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Must hold a current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence.
- Must be confident driving participants safely in the community.
- Must be willing and able to drive either a company vehicle or use their own registered and insured vehicle for participant transport when required (kilometre reimbursement applies where applicable).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current Working with Children Check (where applicable).
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- National Police Check (if required).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent time management, professionalism, and reliability.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours using positive behaviour support strategies.
- Competency in documentation and electronic progress note systems.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Previous experience supporting participants with intellectual disabilities, autism, psychosocial disabilities, mental health, epilepsy, or complex care needs.
- Experience working in Supported Independent Living (SIL), respite, or community settings.
- Medication administration competency.
- Manual handling experience.
- Knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards and Code of Conduct.
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, Mental Health, or a related qualification.

Successful applicants must be reliable, flexible, professional, and committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support. Applicants must also be comfortable driving participants and be available to work day, afternoon, and sleepover shifts across a seven-day rotating roster.
Pay: $43.23 – $45.23 per hour
