We are seeking a detailer with strong knowledge of light gauge steel framing, residential construction drawings and Vertex BD. The role includes modelling houses, preparing wall frame and truss layouts, checking architectural and structural drawings, producing manufacturing files, and coordinating with builders, engineers and the factory team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare light gauge steel frame detailing using Vertex BD software.
- Read and interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings.
- Model wall frames, roof trusses, floor systems and steel framing components.
- Prepare shop drawings, cutting lists, panel layouts and material reports.
- Check drawings for clashes, missing information and buildability issues.
- Coordinate with builders, engineers, certifiers and internal production teams.
- Revise drawings based on site changes, engineering updates or client comments.
- Ensure all details meet Australian building requirements and company standards.
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience using Vertex BD software is highly preferred.
- Experience in light gauge steel framing, metal frames, roof trusses or residential detailing.
- Ability to read architectural and structural plans.
- Good understanding of Australian residential construction.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, FrameCAD, Scottsdale or other framing software will be an advantage.
