An opportunity has become available for a Director of Clinical Training to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
About the role
This role is responsible for professional oversight of the Medical Education Unit. The incumbent will be the professional lead for training and performance of junior medical officers and promoting best practice in medical education within the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service (GCHHS). A key responsibility of this role is to integrate the medical education program at GCHHS with major organisational priorities.
Requirements for the role
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.
Tuberculosis screening - to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.
MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia and registrable as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
While not mandatory, Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (or evidence of significant progression towards) would be well regarded.
Candidates with Fellowship of an appropriate Australian Specialist Medical College and hold specialist registration with AHPRA will be considered if they can demonstrate appropriate skills and experience.
Candidates without Fellowship may also be considered if they can demonstrate appropriate skills and experience.
Certified copies of relevant qualification/s and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
Post-graduate adult education-related qualifications and experience of adult learning principles would be well regarded.
The incumbent will be required to support the Chief Medical Officer on-call roster.
Salary information
Permanent part time (40 hours per fortnight)
Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist: Base hourly rate from $106.91 - $135.55 p.h
Senior Medical Officer (L13-L18): Base hourly rate from $92.56 - $106.91 p.h
Senior Medical Officer - No Specialist Registration: Base hourly rate $92.56 p.h
