The Role
Reporting to the Manager Resource Recovery and based in Windsor NSW, the primary purpose of this role is to develop and implement systems, processes and reporting frameworks to improve operations at Council’s Waste Management Facility, while also managing environmental risk and ensuring compliance in accordance with legislation.
About You
You will have demonstrated, practical experience in project management including planning, implementation and performance monitoring. Strong knowledge of POEO Act, EPL requirements and NSW EPA regulatory requirements and frameworks. Ability to provide data to support decision making.
Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications (Bachelors or Masters) in Environmental Science, Waste Management, Engineering and/or demonstrated experience within these areas
- Experience in project management; planning, implementation and performance monitoring
- Ability to collect, analyse, and report data to support program evaluation and decision-making
- Demonstrated understanding of local government processes, services and systems
- Strong collaboration skills with stakeholders
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- The right to live and work in Australia
- Class C Drivers Licence
- WHS General Construction Work in NSW
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Successful applicants will be required to undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
Desirable Criteria
- First Aid Certificate
- Experience in the supervision and undertaking environmental engineering and/or waste management projects
- Proven ability to collate, analyse and interpret environmental data
- Experience in waste management, environmental compliance, or community engagement
- Prior local government experience, particularly in waste, sustainability, or regulatory compliance
- Experience in dealing with external stakeholders including regulatory bodies such as the NSW EPA
