About us:
We are a practice with established Physicians. To say the practice and the Physicians are delightful and amicable is an understatement. Our practice’s vision is to provide leading-edge practice with empathetic care to all our patients and to build a team that loves working together and coming to work. You will be working closely with our Practice Manager, Reception staff and Physicians and other clinicians to create a team of excellence.
About you
We are seeking two mature minded, warm, friendly, flexible, empathetic patient focused Medical Receptionists for permanent roles. One is a part time role (this advert) and another for a full time role. You will be a true Brand Ambassador and Director of First Impressions, and have a drive to grow and build your skillset and experience.
The successful applicant will be comfortable with the day-to-day requirements of a busy Private Specialist practice and prides themselves in their attention to detail skills, and love working with a hardworking and empathetic collaborative team. You will be used to handling any competing priorities with ease.
For the right candidate we are happy to train from a GP/Allied background. Additionally, you will be mentored by our Practice Manager to assist you in building your confidence and skillset. There will be no medical typing required.
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
- Experience using Best Practice (or similar medical software programs), or an ability to learn software quickly
- IT savviness and able to troubleshoot
- Excellent communication skills with a positive and friendly manner and can-do attitude
- Experience at a Medical practice (GP/Allied background welcomed)
- Professional appearance and demeanour
- Ability to work independently with initiative, and also love being part of a team
- Ability to work well under pressure and to multitask in a busy environment
- Pride themselves on their attention to detail skills – and genuinely want to make a difference in our patients’ lives
- A genuine desire to be trained and upskilled to assist our practice, along with following processes carefully and become an integral part of our team
- Ability to cover leave (with notice)
- Managing inbox and triaging as required
Responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming patients into the practice in an efficient, friendly and courteous manner
- Managing consulting sessions and meet and greet along with consulting billing and uploading reports/scans etc for each patient
- Always delivering exceptional customer service
- Scheduling and managing patient appointments
- Collecting and entering patient details, administration services (training provided if needed)
- Answering phone calls and inquiries in a professional and friendly manner
- Performing general administrative duties such as scanning, faxing, mail sorting, filing and follow-up patient inquiries
- Patient Consulting billing and processing of payments (training provided if needed)
- Supporting and assisting the Specialists and fellow administrative staff in a range of administration and ad-hoc tasks.

Hours/Days:
Three days to four days a week, the following hours are negotiable, but provide an example of how the roles may work:
Number of days negotiable between 3 to 4 days
Monday to Thursday or Monday to Wednesday
8:30am till 5:00pm
A 30 minute unpaid lunch break is to be taken each day
The above days are negotiable.
Pay rate:
$30-33.00 per hour plus super (depending on skillset and experience)
Please note, the hourly rate for the successful candidate will be contingent upon factors such as relevant experience, required upskilling and any necessary training. The listed rate is intended as a general guide and may be adjusted in accordance with these criteria.
