The Senior Power Systems & Engineer provides technical leadership and engineering assurance across TPG Telecom's MTX facilities and Data Centre environments.
The role provides independent engineering oversight of power architecture, maintenance, operational performance, asset health, lifecycle management and capital investment decisions relating to critical power systems. The role provides expert challenge and oversight of managed service providers and other specialist service and product providers to ensure TPG maintains sufficient internal capability to make informed engineering decisions regarding critical infrastructure assets.
You'll make impact by:
- Act as the technical authority for critical power and facilities infrastructure across MTX and Data Centre environments.
- Architect, develop, maintain and continuously improve power infrastructure and engineering standards, technical requirements, maintenance practices and operational guidance for:
UPS systems, DC power systems, Battery systems, Generators, Main switchboards, Electrical distribution systems, Static transfer switches, Power monitoring systems, Ground/Earthing Systems
- Ensure engineering decisions align with power and telecommunications industry standards, manufacturer requirements and best practice.
- Act as TPG Telecom's engineering representative in technical engagements with service and product providers and other specialist service providers.
- Provide independent technical review and challenge of all significant vendor recommendations, assessments and proposed remediation activities.
- Provide technical oversight and assurance of preventative maintenance programs delivered across MTX and Data Centre facilities.
- Lead asset criticality assessments and reliability reviews across critical facilities infrastructure, providing leadership visibility of these reviews, findings and outcomes.[CR1.1]
- Act as the technical custodian of battery maintenance and asset health standards across MTX and Data Centre environments.
- Develop and maintain lifecycle strategies and asset management plans for critical power and facilities infrastructure.
- Develop long-term infrastructure roadmaps for MTX and Data Centre facilities.
- Lead technical investigations into significant power, battery, cooling and facilities-related incidents.
Develop asset reliability and resilience improvement plans across the MTX and Data Centre estate.

What you’ll bring:
- Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years' experience managing critical power infrastructure within telecommunications, data centres, utilities or other mission-critical environments.
Strong knowledge of:
UPS systems, DC power systems, Battery technologies and battery maintenance programs, Generator systems, Main switchboards, Electrical distribution systems, Critical cooling infrastructure, Power monitoring systems
- Demonstrated experience in asset reliability, lifecycle planning and engineering assurance.
Experience conducting engineering investigations, root cause analysis and technical risk assessments.

Ideally, you will also have:
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng).
- Experience within telecommunications network facilities and MTX environments.
- Data Centre infrastructure experience.
Experience supporting critical infrastructure resilience programs.
